This is what the death crawler would look like if it was real. It is a giant carnivorous centipede.
The Death Crawler is a giant killer centipede that roams the forests of South America. The world's largest living centipede is the Amazonian giant centipede/Peruvian giant yellow-leg centipede (scientific name is Scolopendra gigantea). It is regularly 10 to 12 inches, but one reported specimen in Venezuela measures to 18 inches in length.

According to the Lost Tapes site, it feeds on "frogs, tarantulas, birds, lizards, rodents and even bats, catching them mid-flight as the centipede hangs from a cave ceiling." It is also "a very swift runner and highly adept climber. Like all centipedes, it has modified claws that curve around its head and deliver venom to its prey." The venom causes fever and swelling to the area where the bite is, and can be fatal if not taken care of immediately.

The Death Crawler had killed 4 people: 2 Latin American men in 1999 from the discovered tapes that the couple of entomologists found and the 2 entomologists by more giant centipedes as they tried to escape the island where the Death Crawler resides.
